Before the Dragonball saga began...

Years ago, Freeza took over the sayin planet and used it's inhabitants, the Sayins, to act as mecenaries to destroy other planets. On one battle, Bardock is with teamates and wipes out a planet. But a surviving member of the dying planet, curses Bardock with the ability to see his cursed future. Meanwhile, Bardock's son is born, Kakarot. Zarbon, one of Freiza's henchmen, advises Freiza that the saiyans can become a threat when combined together. At this time, Vegeta is a kid and has a high power level for his age. Freiza sends vegeta to destroy another planet with Nappa.

While Bardock is recovering, he starts to see visions of the future. After regaining conscious, Bardock learns that his teamates left to destroy another planet and quicly leaves to join his teamates. At the planet, Bardock sees all his teamates dead. A dying saiyan is found by Bardock. From him, Bardock learns of Freiza's plot the destroy the Saiyan planet. Bardock encounter's some of Freiza henchmen and fights. But, Bardock is cursed with visions and looses concentration. Despite the headache, he manages to defeat all the henchmen except for Dodoria. Dodoria defeats Bardock with a single blast. Meanwhile, Bardock's son his sent away to destroy another planet when he grows up.

Bardock survives, but is severely injured. He still manages to travel back to planet Vegeta to warn the other saiyans. When Bardock informs his comarades about freiza's plot, they mock and laugh at him. Bardock is shocked and furious by their response. Therefore, he decides to change to the future of his doomed planet by taking on freiza...alone. Bardock flies towards Freiza's approaching spaceship, and battles a hundred of Freiza's despatched henchmen. Freiza exits his ship. Bardock launches a fireball in attempt to destroy Freiza and his spaceship. But, Bardock's fireball is easily consumed by Freiza's super fireball. The fireball continues flying towards planet Vegeta, destroying everything in his path ; including Bardock, Freiza's henchmen & the final collision with planet Vegeta. Bardock sees his planet get destroyed...He sees his son grwing up...He sees an Adult Kakarot encountering Freiza...And he dies a happy death.

Vegeta and Nappa are on another, when they are told that planet Vegeta was destroyed be a meteor, but Vegeta shows no concern. Kakarot lands on planet Earth and his found by Gohan. Gohan adopts Kakarot as his grandson and names him Goku.
